Violin

“… Why does this (violin) have a sharp tone; that one quite a wooden tone; this one a smokey, screaming tone; that one a sad and numbing tone?...It is the result of differences in craftsmanship.”
Leopold Mozart: A Treatise on the Fundamental Principles of Violin Playing, Augsburg 1756

The cornerstones of our well-balanced string-making are hand-picked raw materials and careful craftsmanship.

The pure gut G-string is for those who enjoy experimenting with new things. It requires a flexible handling of the bow, advanced technique, and an approach in listening habits.

Wound strings are an important subject of research and testing. We are working on a viable solution.

Recommendation for playing at a frequency of A=415Hz: The following string set recommendations have the effect of equal tension on all strings. The E-string is the exception to this rule. It has a thicker diameter with the aim of optimizing sound and allowing a better bow attack.

String Diameter Thin Medium Thick
E 60 64 68
A 82 86 90
D 122 128 134
G 185 190 200
